The Golden Globe red carpet was beautiful, but boring
The 2012 Golden Globe red carpet coverage this year was, shall I say it? A little on the bland side! Fashions revealed no daring designs, no spectacular splashes of color, no serious cleavage exposures or strategic dress cutouts. We missed Eva Longoria, J. Lo and Cameron Díaz as well to put the Latina fashion foot forward at the Golden Globes Awards.
Instead, it was pure elegance thanks to Jessica Alba, who was a romantic vision in a lavender--beautifully embellished--Gucci gown. Classic beauty for sure, and gorgeous too, but a safe choice nonetheless!
Latina bombshell Sofia Vergara--with over $5 million in jewelry (gulp!)--might have been the talk of the town, yet left us hoping for a real great fabulous fashion statement. The deep-hued blue Vera Wang mermaid-ish creation was perfect to show off Sofia's sensual curves (she told red carpet reporters how she worked out twice a day every day in preparation for the awards show). For the next awards Sofia, how about a little less time doing pushups (you already look great!), and more time trying on some fashion styles we haven't already seen on you before?
Salma Hayek's hourglass figure was accentuated in a Gucci art deco beaded gown. (The matching art deco-style earrings were to die for!) Loved the dress Salma but was hoping for your haute-couture to have told something more than your same old back to black story.
Sure these Latinas pulled off their red carpet looks. However, the roundup of strapless dresses with pushed up boobs were a bit of a yawn to tell you the truth. As for the rest of the ladies down the carpet, these are two that deserve my praises: loved Charlize Theron's Christian Dior gown and Emma Stone's fashion forward deep plum tulle Lanvin dress.
Which one of the Latinas did you love most at the Golden Glove Awards this year?
