Awards season is in full swing, and the stars showed up at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 5, ready to show off their looks. While there were many stars who rocked the red carpet with their beautiful gowns and suit choices at this year's Golden Globes, there were also just as many whose fashion choices left a lot to be desired.

People waited to see what stars like Jennifer Lopez would wear on their big nights, and for some, the wait ended with disappointment. The Golden Globe nominee, for example, arrived on the red carpet with a white, gold, and green dress with a large bow in the front, and some people weren't pleased with her choice.

Other stars chose the right style of dress, but the colors just didn't work. Charlize Theron wore a beautiful dress, but the contrast between an odd shade of green and black completely impacted the beauty of her look. Some stars wore ill-fitting gowns that completely overpowered them, while others wore gowns that were perhaps a tad bit too small. Either way, these ladies and gentlemen have had some great moments on award show red carpets in the past, so one miss is totally understandable.

And while some may not have been among the best dressed in the crowd, at least they went home with an award--and that makes them the real winners. Scroll through to see some of the worst looks on the 2020 Golden Globes red carpet.

It was a big night for the actress after being nominated for a Golden Globe for the first time in 20 years. J.Lo is a fashion icon, so it's rare to see her in an ensemble that people don't love unanimously, but this one didn't please her fans. Some compared her to a Christmas present, while others thought the color choices were odd.

She is absolutely stunning, and so is the dress. If the green fabric had been literally any other color, this would have worked--but sadly, it didn't.

The Mexican actress reminds us time and time again that she is getting better with the passing of the years. This dress is a beauty but perhaps fit her a bit too snugly in certain areas.

It might have been the fabric or the color or perhaps all the sheer fabric on the top half of the dress, but the actress seemed to get lost in this gown.

The dress is giving us 1980s bridesmaid vibes, and it might have worked since big sleeves are in right now--but perhaps if the dress were tailored to fit her a bit better.

Hair embellishments were a big beauty trend on the red carpet, and although the actress looked stunning, her hair took away from the rest of her otherwise decent look.

The young actress looked gorgeous as ever, but something about her dress and her shoes just seemed a bit busy, especially the detail on her chest.

While other stars really nailed red gowns on the red carpet, this dress was too overwhelming for the actress. It seemed like there was too much fabric going on and the dress was wearing her, instead of the other way around.

This soft pastel yellow is rarely seen on the red carpet, and although we do support the color choice, there is something about the sleeves that throws the whole thing off.

While monochromatic looks tend to be chic and fabulous, this particular electric blue was a bit too loud for an elegant event like the Globes.

The color looked great on her, but the dress sort of looked deflated. The way it flopped around her arms and even the skirt seemed a bit ill-fitting.

She arrived on the red carpet wearing a silver metallic Louis Vuitton dress that might have seemed like a good idea, but it ended up looking a little more like a costume than a dress.

The actress is 23 years old, and she could have easily chosen a dress that was both elegant and fun. This gown sort of drowned her, and instead of making her stand out as a nominee, it made her fade into the background.

This design seems to be gaining some popularity, but it is rather unflattering, if you ask us. The color is beautiful, but perhaps if there had been a bit of a detail to highlight her waist, the dress might have worked.

The comedian is known for her upbeat and fun personality, but sadly her dress didn't reflect that. It was too dark, with shoulder pads that were a tad too big and a belt that resembled that of a pilgrim. We know she can do much better!

There is nothing traditional about this star. She has risen to fame so quickly, and although her outfit wasn't a hit, she was a big winner. The actress became the first Asian American woman to win a Golden Globe Award for best actress in the musical or comedy category for her role in The Farewell.

The actress's beauty can't be taken away from her no matter what she wears, but we would have definitely loved to see her in something else. This dress seemed like it was put together with a few leftover pieces of fabric from three separate dresses.

Nothing is flattering about this dress choice. The actress is too beautiful to wear a dress that does her no favors like this one. The color, the style, and the fit just don't work.

She wore a black satin gown and strappy heels but topped it off with a loose-fitting black blazer. While this look would be fine for a girls' night out, it just didn't cut it for the Golden Globes.
