Penelope Cruz looked liked television royalty at the 2018 Emmy Awards. She was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her performance as Donatella Versace in FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, and even though she did not win in her category, her gorgeous Chanel gown owned the night.

The actress slayed the red carpet while dripping in feathers, which are notoriously hard to pull off, but leave it to Penelope to do it effortlessly. However, there was nothing easy about putting together her epic dress. The amount of work that went into it will floor you.

According to Harper's Bazaar, it took 280 hours to sew on 8,000 individual details on the bodice of the dress, which included "white and iridescent blue organza flowers, beads, and feathers." Wow!

She got to reunite with the wonderfully diverse cast that included Latino talent like Ricky Martin and Edgar Ramírez. Their castmate Darren Criss won best actor in a limited series or movie for his chilling portrayal of Andrew Cunanan on the show.

Ryan dedicated the outstanding limited series award to victims of hate crimes in the LGBTQ community. "The Assassination of Gianni Versace is about homophobia, internalized and externalized," he said. "One out of every four LGBTQ people in this country will be the victim of a hate crime. We dedicate this award to them, to awareness, to stricter hate crime laws, and mostly this is for the memory of [Andrew Cunanan’s victims] Jeff [Trail], and David [Madson], and Gianni, and for all those lives taken too soon."
