During pregnancy you're bound to experience many aches and pains. Often times you tough it out and don't bother treating them. This is okay in some circumstances, but there are times that you should not take the pain lightly. Take, for instance, the case of 37-year-old Claire Hadden. The expectant mom of three experienced stomach pain which she thought was caused by a stomach bug.
Instead, the poor woman found out that she was suffering from appendicitis and doctors didn't even know it!Continue Reading >
I've heard some crazy birthing stories by many moms, but none of them compare to the bizarre tale I just heard today. A 31-year-old woman in Indonesia went into labor while she was eight months pregnant and had the assistance of a midwife to deliver her baby. Much to Debi Nubatonis and midwife Josephine Wadu's surprise, the mother of two did NOT give birth to a baby girl or boy.
Instead you will NEVER in a million years believe what this woman delivered! Even I can't figure out how it happened!
A 22-year-old British mother-to-be died unexpectedly while brushing her teeth in her parents home. Jade Glen, a mother of one, was eight months along in her second pregnancy when she fell ill and admitted herself to the hospital. Doctors treated her for a reported blood clot but gave her clearance to go home after being checked.
That is until a week later when the mother passed away for reasons unknown.Continue Reading >
When I was pregnant the first time, I had no idea what to expect. None whatsoever. In fact, everything was new and exciting and potentially life threatening. There were a lot of ups and downs in those first days. My hormones were out of control. I don't remember being extra moody, but then again that is one of the perks of being a moody person regularly. I do however remember feeling like everything was upside down and wishing someone had warned me of some of the weirder side effects of pregnancy and the hormones that come with being with child.
Here are some of the weird things that happen to you during pregnancy that are completely normal. So don't freak out. Well, you can a little bit but it won't help.
Besties Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi are both pregnant at the same time! They even walked the red carpet together at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday showing off their matching baby bumps. But unlike Snooki, JWoww isn't exactly having the easiest pregnancy. In fact, she hates it! "She [Snooki] loves being pregnant right now and I f---ing hate it," JWoww told Us Weekly. Hey, at least she kept it real!Continue Reading >
One of the most annoying side effects of pregnancy has to be the acne. At least for me personally, one of the things I dreaded about becoming pregnant again was the inevitable breakout that comes with the first trimester. I know, I know--a small price to pay for creating life, but annoying nonetheless!
Some mamis are lucky not to have to go through it, but for me, my hair and skin became one greasy mess, and the raging hormones gave me a crazy case of acne. It totally dulled my pregnancy glow ... bummer. My first pregnancy was like that and this one, same thing. I'm currently 16 weeks along and hoping that the anti-acne measures I'm going to share with you will soon help the blemishes heal.
Barbara Bienveneu, a 37-year-old woman in Quebec, Canada, managed to dupe her man with the BIGGEST lie I've ever heard. The woman somehow tricked her boyfriend, Paul Servat, into believing that she was pregnant. She convinced him that she was with child ALL the way up to the ninth month of her supposed pregnancy.
But this woman didn't lie about having a baby or two ... oh no, she fibbed about having FIVE! Holy crap, how do you lie about carrying quintuplets?!
Remember how swollen Kim Kardashian's feet got during pregnancy? The poor girl got a lot of crap for it, but the truth is swelling is a common--and normal!--pregnancy symptom, not something any pregnant woman should be scrutinized or criticized for. It can get especially uncomfortable with the summertime heat (that'll be here before you know it). So is swelling something you can treat or even prevent?Continue Reading >
If you are pregnant or have been pregnant, then you know that you experience many symptoms during those 40 weeks. One of the most annoying? Varicose veins. Many of us think that they occur as we get older, but some women experience the unsightly veins during pregnancy.
If you're worried about getting them, not to worry, there are some easy ways to prevent them from happening in the first place.Continue Reading >
I just found out a good friend of mine is pregnant with her first child, and we spent a good part of our conversation talking about how she kind of had a feeling she was expecting even before she took the test that confirmed it. I knew exactly what she was talking about because I felt the same way. I mean, it's hard to tell for sure when you get pregnant for the first time because everything is so new, but there are some definite early signs that are pretty universal.
So if you think you're pregnant, but it's still too early to take a test to confirm it, you may want to be on the lookout for these early signs of pregnancy.Continue Reading >
