LyndseyOn May 16, 34-year-old Lyndsey Thomas was 10 days past her due date when she was admitted to Whittington Hospital in North London because it was time to get induced. I don't know if you've ever had a birth induced (I have), but it can take a while, a long while. Thomas decided that as a way to pass the time and help her endure the pain, she would live tweet the whole birth experience, which ended up being 12 hours long.

The internet was invited to follow #lindseygivesbirth. If you are wondering why, Thomas says, "I wanted to capture as much as I could, even during my contractions. It was a way of keeping my mind off the pain and telling friends what was happening."

Thomas, who is also the mother of a 3-year-old son, did an excellent job of capturing her birth experience and sharing it on Twitter. She shared very personal moments, while sparing us all the gory bits at the end.

Now, some people would say that this type of experience is too personal to share so publicly and you know what for most people it would be, but I appreciate what Thomas did and I actually think it can be helpful for anyone facing a similar situation as her. I was really scared when I had to get induced with my first child because I had no idea what to expect. I would have found this helpful and amusing.

Check out a few of the pictures that Thomas shared.
