I rocked a bikini while pregnant & I don't care what anyone says!
I was one of those women who loved--no, really LOVED--my body the two times I was pregnant. I gained right around the recommended weight each time and I thought both my baby bumps looked amazing... if I do say so myself! Plus, I've no idea what it means to have morning sickness and I pretty much always felt like I was glowing. In fact, I don't think I've ever felt so beautiful as the two times I was pregnant. Maybe that's why I saw absolutely nothing wrong with wearing my pre-belly bikini throughout both my pregnancies.
But I'm amazed at the amount of people who think this is unacceptable or even indecent!

I mean, what's so offensive about wearing a bikini while you're pregnant? I fail to see how a baby bump is something that needs to be hidden or something of which women need to be ashamed. Who in their right mind would think that?
Well, a few days ago, Tori Spelling blasted critics who thought she should be covering up her growing belly by writing a post in her own blog about being "bump proud." And I couldn't agree with her more. I actually couldn't believe some of the comments she says she got after posting a pregnant photo of her in a bikini. Here's a sample:
Too much showing. Not suitable for a pregnant mom with a seven-month-old."
Ewww. She's pregnant! Cover that bump up! No one wants to see that!!
NOT motherly AT ALL. In future years she will surely regret that unflattering picture. COVER up girl!
What the hell is wrong with people? I'm no model, but I loved showing off my belly by wearing a bikini when I was pregnant, there is even photographic evidence (see above).

I was so happy during both my pregnancies that I wanted to share my joy with the whole world. Being pregnant is such an amazing experience--c'mon, think about it, you're growing another human being inside of you!--that no women should feel embarrassed of her belly. Granted, not all women like their bellies or their pregnant bodies. Maybe they have too many stretch marks or they don't feel comfortable with the weight they've gained...but for those of us who love them, why not flaunt them? Plus, if we embrace the beauty of a pregnant body, maybe those of us women who aren't feeling so gorgeous will find it a bit easier to accept the changes their bodies are going through.
