But when Bey sat down for a chat with Oprah in 2013, a year after Blue was born, and she was so proud and glowing when talking about her firstborn. "She's hilarious and she is fire!" the singer shared. "I didn't expect her to be fire, but Lord, I'm gonna have me a time."

Before she gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012, Beyoncé shared that she had suffered a miscarriage in her documentary, Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream. She was afraid during Blue's pregnancy that it would happen again so she kept it a secret for some time. She said she shared her miscarriage story so that other parents who have gone through the same wouldn't feel alone.

Beyoncé opened up like never before about how her and her twins' were at risk when she gave birth to them in June 2017. "I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month," she told Vogue. "My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU."

"To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real," she said. "Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be."

Today I have a connection to any parent who has been through such an experience."
