Beyoncé might seem superhuman to the rest of the world, but to her family she's just like an average mom. After spending five years with Blue Ivy as her only child, the singer welcomed twins, Sir and Rumi, in June 2017. Bey and husband, Jay-Z, are now a family of five, and through the years the ultra-private couple have shared small glimpses of their lives as parents.

The "All Night" singer revealed recently that she endured a terrifying health scare when she welcomed her twins and it made her reevaluate everything she thought about herself, motherhood and her own body image. She shared how when she gave birth to her first child, she worked tirelessly to get her body back into shape because she succumbed to society's pressures. This time around she decided to be kinder to her body and accept herself just as she is.

While Bey and her babies live quite the luxurious lives, seeing her open up about their struggles as a family makes her seem a lot more relatable than the perfection she portrays on stage. Bey is making sure that her children are always cared for, that they are good people and that they know there's nothing they can't achieve.

The songstress has made it a point to protect her kids' privacy through the years but seeing her in matching mom and daughter outfits with Blue on Instagram, holding her twins and making sure her daughter behaves at major events reminds us that no matter how put-together her life looks, she's just a regular mom like the rest of us. Click through to see all the times Beyoncé reminded us that she was just like every other mom on the planet.

She lights up when talking about her kids. 1

While most moms can't wait to talk about their babies to anyone who is willing to listen, the Grammy winner is super private when it comes to her kids. But when Bey sat down for a chat with Oprah in 2013, a year after Blue was born, and she was so proud and glowing when talking about her firstborn. "She's hilarious and she is fire!" the singer shared. "I didn't expect her to be fire, but Lord, I'm gonna have me a time."

Beyoncé opened up about having a miscarriage. 2

Before she gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012, Beyoncé shared that she had suffered a miscarriage in her documentary, Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream. She was afraid during Blue's pregnancy that it would happen again so she kept it a secret for some time. She said she shared her miscarriage story so that other parents who have gone through the same wouldn't feel alone.

When Blue and Jay presented the singer with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs in 2014, the baby girl clapped for her momma and said, "Good job, mommy." Bey lost it and started crying on stage. What a moment!

While Bey might be the greatest entertainer alive, her daughter Blue was not happy during one of her mom and dad's recent concerts. While some NSFW images of the couple flashed on the screen, Blue looked on in horror and eventually ducked for cover to avoid seeing her parents nearly naked. Every mom has embarassed their kids at least once in their life, right?

But most of all, Bey makes her babies proud, too. 12

Blue was in the audience when her mom accepted the CFDA Fashion Icon award in 2016. The child was in audience waving and snapping pics of her mom during her acceptance speech, and intently listening to her mom's words. So cute!

She believes she was meant to have twins to make peace with her past. 15

"I come from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust. Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship. Connecting to the past and knowing our history makes us both bruised and beautiful," she revealed to Vogue in September 2018. "I now believe it’s why God blessed me with my twins. Male and female energy was able to coexist and grow in my blood for the first time. I pray that I am able to break the generational curses in my family and that my children will have less complicated lives."

She faced a health scare after giving birth to her twins. 16

Beyoncé opened up like never before about how her and her twins' were at risk when she gave birth to them in June 2017. "I was 218 pounds the day I gave birth to Rumi and Sir. I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month," she told Vogue. "My health and my babies’ health were in danger, so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in the NICU."

She opened up about how the C-section affected her. 17

"After the C-section, my core felt different. It had been major surgery. Some of your organs are shifted temporarily, and in rare cases, removed temporarily during delivery. I am not sure everyone understands that. I needed time to heal, to recover. During my recovery, I gave myself self-love and self-care, and I embraced being curvier," she shared in August 2018. "But I was patient with myself and enjoyed my fuller curves. My kids and husband did, too."

She learned to embrace her curves. 18

"To this day my arms, shoulders, breasts, and thighs are fuller. I have a little mommy pouch, and I’m in no rush to get rid of it. I think it’s real," she said. "Whenever I’m ready to get a six-pack, I will go into beast zone and work my ass off until I have it. But right now, my little FUPA and I feel like we are meant to be."

She has matching Halloween costumes for the whole family. 19

The whole family went with a Barbie theme for Halloween 2016, and although Blue doesn't look too happy here, this is a memory they'll always share.

She knows when to rely on others for support. 20

She's opened up about how difficult it was for her after she gave birth to her twins but said her husband was a huge help. "My husband was a soldier and such a strong support system for me. I am proud to have been a witness to his strength and evolution as a man, a best friend, and a father," she told Vogue. "I was in survival mode and did not grasp it all until months later. Today I have a connection to any parent who has been through such an experience."
