"Best Dad Ever" dons daisy dukes to teach his daughter a lesson in modesty

A Utah dad of seven was so tired of his daughter wearing Daisy Dukes that he decided to give her a taste of her own medicine. I think I would've died if my dad had done something like this to me when I was teenager! But Scott Mackintosh loves his daughter Mylye so much that he was willing to embarrass himself to show her why she doesn't need to wear clothes that leave nothing to the imagination.

That's why, before a recent family outing, Mackintosh took a pair of scissors and turned a pair of old jeans into extremely short shorts. He also grabbed a T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Best.Dad.Ever" and left the house ready to give his daughter a lesson. At first, the 18-year-old didn't even notice what he had done, but eventually she did and she acted as if she didn't care. I'm sure, though, that deep down inside the embarrassment was killing her.

Mackintosh didn't only go out to dinner with his family wearing his outrageous outfit, he also took them to play miniature golf where he undoubtedly became the center of attention. When he drove his family to get some milkshakes, his daughter finally broke down and refused to go inside with her family. I imagined it was a popular hangout and she just couldn't take the humiliation anymore.

However, she didn't mind uploading two pictures of her dad wearing his Daisy Dukes to her Tumblr with the following message:

My mom told me to change my "slutty" shorts before we went to dinner. I said no. So my dad cut his jeans to fit in. We went to dinner and then mini golf like this.

The image has since gone viral.

What I love the most about this story is Mackintosh's obvious love for his daughter. As he said on his wife's blog, "My daughter will always know that her dad loves her and cares about her enough to make a fool out of himself." Plus, his daughter seems to have gotten the message because Mackintosh reports he hasn't seen the short shorts since then.
