I'm sure there have been times when you've experienced discomfort having sex that you just shrugged off. While it can seem harmless at times, there are other moments when you should take it more seriously. Not only can it indicate a health problem, but it might also be a sign that you need to take it easy.

We would never discourage you from having sex with your partner, but when it comes to matters of your health, we take it very seriously. Check out the many ways that sex might be making you sick!

Yeast infections: Also known as "thrush" this type of yeast infection tends to happen after having sex if the vagina's environment changes. The good thing is, it can be easily treated with the consultation of your doctor.

UTIs: Because you're allowing new bacteria into your vagina during sex, you're also making it more susceptible to a UTI. We all know how discomforting they can be and unfortunately women are more likely than men to get them. Make sure to pee immediately after sex to prevent them from happening.

Semen allergies: Although it's not commonly heard, some women are legitimately allergic to their man's semen. The condition known as Seminal Plasma Hypersensitivity is a mystery to doctors and is often misdiagnosed. Often times couples are told to have sex more consistently to build up resistance to the allergy or use condoms.

Temporary memory loss: Another rare health condition known as Transient Global Amnesia can cause temporary memory loss. It has doctors stumped, but they have concluded that it is only caused by sex and may be affected due to lack of blood flow to the brain.

Nausea and headaches: If you find yourself feeling nauseous or getting headaches after having sex, you may want to get yourself checked for Coital Cephalgia. This is known as a "sexual headache" that occurs during sex that can even become a migraine and cause nausea in some people.
