It's nothing new, but this idea seems to be getting more and more popular among parents who are so exhausted that they claim they have no time for sex. According to a survey by British parenting website Netmums, 6 out of 10 couples admit having to schedule when they're going to be intimate, just like they would their child's soccer practice. Otherwise, they can go for weeks without having sex.

If that works for them, more power to them ... but I'm not so sure I could do it.

While I understand perfectly well the purpose behind this idea, I just think that taking away the spontaneity of it all is pretty crazy. And I say that even though my husband and I are right up there with all those other parents who are exhausted after a long work day and then having to come home to take care of the kids, take them to their multiple activities, help them with their homework, paying bills, making dinner and all those other things in what seems like a never-ending daily to-do list.

Even so, it would be so weird for me to put down on my calendar that every Monday, Thursday and Saturday nights my husband and I have an appointment to make love. We may end up doing it more often, but it'd feel like such a chore!

Plus, sometimes all it takes is something as simple as turning off the TV (or the iPad) or waking up extra early (or even in the middle of the night) to change the situation. In any event, if scheduling sex sessions will help you improve your relationship with your husband, that's all that matters, right?
