I'm a sucker for unsual romantic stories and the one I'm about to tell you is truly inspirational. Mostly because it proves that you can find love where you least expect it. Just like ask Resurrection Graves and her husband Deven. Both were down on their luck and were spending the night at a homeless shelter in Washington D.C. back in August of 2011. Although finding a partner was the last thing on their minds at the time, that's exactly what ended up happening.

From the moment Deven saw Resurrection, he knew there was something special and different about her, the Army veteran told the Huffington Post. He made every attempt to get to know her, but she was reluctant because she wasn't sure what he wanted. Eventually, she decided to give him a chance.

On their first date, they went to McDonald's because that's all Deven could afford. But they ended up spending hours talking about their dreams, their failures and their lives in general. That's how they realized they had a lot in common. They continued their conversation for several weeks, until Deven told Resurrection that he wanted to be more than friends.

But after a recent failed relationship, she wasn't fully convinced. Plus, she was trying to get back on her feet and wondered if Deven would be able to do the same. After he got a full-time job and kept on taking care of her like no one else ever had, Resurrection realized that he truly was "The One." So when he proposed, she couldn't say no.

Two years later, in August 2013, they got married on the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King's historic "I Have a Dream" speech because they both felt like the dream they had had come true. Today, they dedicate themselves to giving back through their non-profit organization, Glory Soldiers Global, whose aim is to end poverty and homelessness.

I guess it's undeniable that everything happens for a reason...
