WATCH: A year of cancer treatment & recovery in one minute is truly amazing (VIDEO)
I've been afraid of cancer for as long as I can remember. It's terrifying and something that many feel compelled to speak of in whispers. Seeing people suffer through treatment hasn't always struck me as an empowering experience mostly because it can be so gut-wrenching, but watching a 60-second time-lapse video that chronicles a year of treatment in the life of its creator and breast cancer survivor Emily Helck is quite possibly one of the most beautiful and life-affirming things I've ever seen. I think you should watch it too.

Helck, who has a blog where she posted the video she put together after taking pictures of herself every day for a year during her cancer treatment, writes that she's "still not completely sure why" she took these photos. I'm not sure why she did it either, but I am sure that these photos turned into a video will help and inspire others who may be going through something similar. Shoot, I know for a fact that they will inspire even those who have never been through something like this because I am one of those people.
I want to thank Helck for sharing herself during what were obviously not the best moments of her life, for showing us what it is like to through go through something so difficult, for being human and for sharing her humanity.
