Kate Walsh is a 40-year-old inspiration!
Holy COW! Have you seen Kate Walsh on the cover of Shape magazine this month? She looks freaking amazing! What's even more impressive is the fact that she's 40 years old and posing NAKED. My jaw dropped!
I would normally be all like, "Woe is me, look at this celebrity who has all this time to work out and a private chef, blah, blah, blah," but no--not with Kate. She's so open and honest about her age and how challenging it was to work up the guts to pose nude that I couldn't really help feel anything but inspired. So, thank you, Kate Walsh.

I will now get up off my lazy butt and commence working out because as a 31-year-old woman, I am envious of your gorgeous body!
"I was terrified, but I really wanted to do a naked cover — especially with Shape, because the magazine is about loving yourself inside and out," Walsh admitted. Well, I'm so glad she stuck by her guns and braved being in the buff, because this is a great message for women of all ages.

Between Kate's body and Sofia Vergara being named the sexiest woman in the world by AskMen.com, it looks like 40 might be the new 30, which makes me feel really good! I mean, I felt great when I turned 30. I finally had my career right on track, I was happily married, I had a nice home and adopted a fur baby--everything was great! Until I read story after story about how women expire at the age of 35! Do you get where I'm coming from? I just felt like I couldn't walk down the street without someone being like, "Well, you better have a baby before 35," or reading an article about how our ovaries like shrivel up and die when we turn 35. I felt like there was a world-wide conspiracy to make women feel old and haggard (wait, we really still can't rule that out).
But women like Sofia and Kate who so openly embrace their age and look damn good doing it making me feel good about getting older, like I did to begin with. It's great to get past all the insecurity and uncertainty of young adulthood and really come in to the wonderful women we all are! So thanks Kate, for reminding me that age is all in your head and that we can all look just as amazing (well, maybe not that good girl, seriously!) as long as we take care of ourselves.
