Jennifer BongcoTalk about a scene right out of a horror movie, only it wasn't a movie at all. A frightened 5-year-old girl, Jessica Frantes, covered in blood was found pounding on the front door of her home in Winslow, New Jersey after midnight by her 19-year-old sister, Maria Bongco, screaming, "Mommy is DEAD!"

The small child had just witnessed her mother, Jennifer Bongco, be beaten and stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Kevin Ambrose. He then drove the little girl home and dropped her off before leaving to Atlantic City.

At 12:29 a.m. a terrified and confused Maria Bongco called 911. At 12:30 a.m., their mother, a 41-year-old nurse, was found lying in the street left to die like an animal by a local pizza deliveryman. She was declared dead at 4 a.m.

Just 10 minutes before, Ambrose, Jennifer and her little daughter, were seen on security footage leaving a convenience store. What the hell happened in those 10 minutes that left a vibrant mother left for dead in the street?

Sometime between 12:20 and 12:30 a.m. the couple got into an argument. The little girl gave a statement saying that her mom ran out of the car, Ambrose followed her out of the car and proceeded to beat and stab her to death right there in the street with the little girl watching horrified.

In a statement given to police, the older sister said that Ambrose was nasty to them and always yelled at her and Jessica and they never liked him. So it makes me wonder why this man was around these children in the first place.

I've always said that if the Big Guy were no longer in the picture, I would never remarry for the fact that no one would love my children like their own father. I could date but my children would not be exposed to that person until I knew them really well and deemed them worthy of my girls. They would certainly never be allowed to be rude or demeaning to my children. I know it's easy to say this from my happily married high horse. The reality is I don't know what I would do in that situation.

I get it adults need companionship. We thrive in partnerships and coupledom. But once a relationship turns volatile (mentally, physically or verbally) or if the partner ever spoke out of line to my children, there would be no ifs and or buts about it, he would be gone.

I have a sneaking suspicion this was not the first time that Ambrose got physical with Jennifer Bongco. Ambrose has been arrested and charged with murder. I hope he spends the rest of his life locked in a cage like the animal he is tortured by what he did that night. I know those girls will never forget.
