muñecas aterradorasPrepare yourselves for some creepiness straight out of a horror film. Parents in a small community in San Clemente, California were freaking out after porcelain dolls resembling their children were being left at their doorsteps by a mystery culprit. I'm getting the chills just thinking about the possibility, so I can't imagine the crazy panic these families had to go through.

Since June, the families targeted started filing police reports and binding together to make sure the creepy doll case was solved. The community effort seems to have paid off and investigators were able to find the person targeting these homes with the eerie gifts.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department released a news statement stating:

Investigators made contact with the female adult who admitted to placing the porcelain dolls on the porch of the various residences in the community. Investigators have concluded that her motivation was out of goodwill and that she intended it as a kind gesture.

A kind gesture? A stranger leaving porcelain dolls resembling people's kids is not cute or kind. In fact, it is just straight up weird and almost stalkerish. I mean, what was this lady thinking? Did she honestly believe that these parents would open their doors and say, 'Wow, what a beautiful creepy porcelain doll that ... looks just like my kid! How great." No! Didn't this church-going lady hear that no good deed goes unpunished?

Now those porcelain dolls are chilling in the trash somewhere or totally destroyed by the parents. She should have just donated them to the Goodwill or Salvation Army. I'm sure a dedicated doll collector would have put those glass-eyed beauties to good use. Too late now, I guess.
