Church shooting in Phoenix has deadly outcome
One priest has been killed and another left in critical condition in a shooting at a Catholic church in Phoenix, Arizona, police revealed early this morning.
According to authorities, one of the victims called 911 at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday from the Mother of Mercy Mission Catholic Church to alert them of the attack, which took place in the living quarters attached to the church. Officers have since described the incident as a burglary.

One of the priests suffered a fatal gun shot wound and was later pronounced dead at an area hospital. A second priest is also under care at a local medical center, listed in critical condition, although the nature of his injuries is unknown.
A green 2003 Mazda Tribute stolen from church property was later recovered by police officers, but no one was inside. So far, no arrests have been made in the deadly shooting.
Another innocent life taken in a random, senseless act of violence ... it's so sad. It seems like not a day goes by lately without a shooting taking place and it's scary to think that nowhere is truly safe. I mean, what kind of monster attacks priests and attempts to rob a church? I only hope that cops get to the bottom of this case and find person responsible so that justice can be served. In the meantime, my heart goes out to all of the victims' families and loved ones, as well as the recovering victim himself. I wish him a speedy recovery!
