Latina dies after injecting herself with Vaseline to make her boobs bigger
An Argentine woman who injected herself with vaseline in an attempt to give herself a DIY breast augmentation has died. Sonia Perez Llanzon suffered a pulmonary embolism a few weeks after the injections.
This is absolutely devastating, but I have to ask: What could have possessed this poor woman to do such a thing?!

According to reports, Llanzon started experiencing difficulty breathing shortly after injecting herself. She later went to a Santa Rosa hospital and despite the scars found on her breasts, denied having done anything drastic when doctors asked. She eventually admitted that she had injected herself with vaseline in an effort to make her breast bigger. So what went wrong? Well, the vaseline traveled to her blood stream causing blood clots that made their way to her lungs. After about a month of being hospitalized Llanzon suffered a pulmonary embolism and died.
"In all my medical career, I've never seen a case like this. The human body has antibodies to remove bacteria and viruses, but it hasn't got any mechanisms against this type of product," Julio Pla Cardenas, chief of surgery at Lucio Molas Hospital in Santa Rosa told Sipse.com. "Other people using vaseline like this are putting themselves in danger," he added.
Llanzon left behind her 20-year-old son, Kevin Berazategui who paid tribute to his mom on his Facebook page on March 8, posting: "It has been two days since you haven't been here in this world … I love you forever. The 20 years I spent by your side were beautiful."
Not only was Llanzon young, but the 39-year-old was also athletic and really into fitness. She was a marathon runner and a boxer. How did someone who was so on top of her health not understand the dangerous precautions that can come with self-injecting your own breasts? She was so beautiful already...
I guess it goes to show how our insecurities can effect our decisions and even our logic. My thoughts and prayers go out to her son and the rest of her loved ones.
