20-year-old who had the body of a toddler sadly dies
Back in January, we told you about a 20-year-old girl trapped in the body of a toddler. Brooke Greenberg's medical condition was baffling not only to the public, but also to the medical community who was never able to formally diagnose her. Sadly, the woman with the strangest genetic disorder, know only as Syndrome X, has died.

Amazingly, doctors had told Brooke's parents to prepare for her death several times, but the years just kept passing by and the girl became a woman--in age, but not in development. So she didn't only look like a toddler, she also acted like one. In other words, her parents had an eternal toddler. Can you imagine?
Honestly, I can't. Caring for Brooke all these years must have been incredibly taxing on her parents, but not knowing what was wrong with her must have been even more difficult and frustrating. I mean, imagine having to live every day not knowing if it'll be your child's last one?
The one thing that's obvious is that Brooke was lucky enough to have been born into a very loving family, with parents who didn't hesitate to do whatever was necessary to make sure their daughter lived as comfortable a life as possible, despite her medical condition. Even though that's what being a parent is all about, they are to be commended because not everyone is strong enough to demonstrate such enduring love. I can only imagine the huge void left by Brooke.
May she rest in peace.
