Little girl kidnapped from bedroom escapes & we should teach all our kids! (VIDEO)
Aurora, Colorado, police have launched a manhunt for the suspect who attempted to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom early Monday morning. The little girl was apparently doing homework in her room sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, when the predator removed the screen from her window, opened the window, entered the room and absconded with the child.
But the little girl thankfully escaped, thanks to a tactic we should be teaching our kids!

The little girl immediately screamed and put up a fight, waking her father who was sleeping in another room. The girl's father ran into an alley near the family's home, where he found his daughter, who had miraculously escaped her kidnapper. The Aurora Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the suspect--the largest the city has ever offered.
"We think there's a predator out there. And he has to be caught, and he has to be stopped," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said at a news conference on Monday. "I've been in this business a long time, and I've never seen anything like this," he said.
Authorities do not believe that the victim or her family knew the kidnapper or that this family in particular was a target, and the crime is being handled as a kidnapping by a stranger--an act that is very rare. "I don't know what's going on," the victim's grandmother, Beatrice Padilla said. "We don't know who he is!"
Had it not been for the tenacity of the young girl, who was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, the city would have been searching for a kidnapping victim rather than just the suspect. Her parents certainly must be doing something right--it is pretty astonishing that this child had not only the know-how, but the courage to get herself out of such a scary situation. Sadly, her community will undoubtedly live in fear for other children in their neighborhood until the suspect is apprehended.
Police intend to remain vigilant in the search for the suspect, who we hope is caught ASAP!
