Highway patrol officers testing equipment in an Oklahoma lake have just uncovered two rusting vintage cars containing six bodies, believed to be of people who vanished more than FORTY years ago in two separate incidents.

Officers made the accidental shocking discovery while conducting a training with sonar equipment in the state's Foss Lake on Friday. Authorities believe the bodies in one car, a 1969 Camaro, are those of three local teenagers--Jimmy Allen Williams 16, Thomas Michael Rios, 18, and Leah Gail Johnson, 18--who vanished after going out for a drive in 1970. Another car, a Chevrolet, held three more bodies thought to be a 69-year-old man and two friends who went missing in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Now, police are reopening the two cold cases from over four decades ago.

Though specific details have yet to be released, authorities did reveal that the Camaro matches the vehicle associated with the three missing teens and that the identity of at least one of the victims was confirmed. They are waiting to notify the relatives of the victims before releasing any names. Can you imagine getting that phone call?! I can't even begin to think how those family members will react after being left to live with these mysteries for so long. It's just crazy to think about. But even so, some relatives said they always held out hope. "We never gave up. We always wanted some clue that somebody knew someone," said Debbie McManaman, a possible victim's granddaughter, according to the Daily Mail.

At the very least, I hope that this will bring a sense of closure to the victims' loves ones after so many years of facing this unsolved family story.
