Hannah Anderson speaks out about kidnapping on social media, says DiMaggio deserved to die
Hannah Anderson is officially safely back home after being kidnapped last week by family friend, James Lee DiMaggio. Surprisingly, the 16-year-old isn't remaining quiet about her scary ordeal and has taken to social media websites to share with the world the hell she went through at the hands of her captor.
She's shared her firsthand account via Instagram and Ask.fm and after speculation about if the posts were even her, it became clear it was the teen uploading the smiley pictures. What makes the reaction to these posts shocking is the fact that Anderson is experiencing online bullying by users on Ask.fm. How awful!
The U.K. Daily Mail reports that in one Ask.fm post, Anderson says that DiMaggio was a psycho who "tricked" her family by inviting them over to ride go-carts, only to tie up her mother and brother before running off with her. She displayed guilt over their deaths and said she wished she'd tried harder to save them.
Some users on the site have been bullying her by calling her "slut" "whore," even cruelly blaming her for her mother and brother's death. According to Anderson's Ask.fm account, "Hannahbanana722," DiMaggio had rigged the home with explosives and had it timed to set on fire during his escape with the teen. She also stated that her kidnapper refused to feed her and she didn't sleep during the six days she was captive.
When asked if she would have preferred DiMaggio to get a prison sentence, Anderson stated that he deserved to die. Many of her followers have pointed out that her responses seem emotionless which is why it's been questioned if it was her. However, a close friend confirmed that it was Anderson responding. For now the family is being given their privacy as per the teen's father's request.
It's crazy how Hannah is openly talking about her kidnapping ordeal on social media. Personally, I think I would steer away from those platforms because there needs to be a recovery period. I also wish there weren't awful people bullying her since she went through a very traumatic experience. For now, all we can do is wait on a public statement made by her since social media can only say so much.
