Well, it turns out Facebook really can work miracles! Just three days after Utah woman Jenessa Simons posted a photo pleading viewers to help her find her birth parents, the 21-year-old was able to reunite with her biological mom. So amazing!

Simons took a photo of herself holding signs that read "Help me find my birth parents!" and included personal information, like her date and place of birth and her original name. Hoping that someone might able to aid her in her search, she asked her friends to "like" and share the picture ... and that's exactly what they did. In fact, the photo ended up being shared more than 148,000 times!

Eventually, it ended up catching the eye of a woman who thought she knew who Simons' birth parents could be. She passed on the information to the person she believed to be the biological mother--and it turns out she was right! Simons soon got a message from her birth mom and though she was reluctant to believe it at first, she soon realized it was really her! "She sent pictures of me as a baby that my mother had given her," Simons told KTVX-TV.

Now, Simons is hoping to meet the woman she believes to be her birth mom in person and to track down her birth father as well.

Isn't that unbelievable? It's crazy how all it took was three days--THREE--for the right person to spot Simons' photo and reunite her with biological mom. Some people spend years trying to find out this exact info. I guess I really should never underestimate the power of the Internet!

In all seriousness though, stories like these actually do leave me in complete awe of technology ... not to mention, totally rekindle my appreciation for social media. After all, in these days when some people seem to use Facebook and Twitter for all the wrong reasons, it's nice to be reminded that these sites also have the potential of doing great things--including reuniting families!

Wow, amazing story. Sounds like this was a Mormon couple who had premarital sex, got pregnant, and gave the baby up for adoption. Provo, Utah is BYU city (the Mormon college). That poor couple would have been kicked out of school, and been completely ashamed. Must have taken a lot of courage for her birth mom to contact her. Interested to see whether the father even wants to be found!
