It's been barely a week since former CIA Director David Petraeus' scandal rocked the White House and, holy cow, has it blown up! Petraeus resigned after he revealed that he had been having an extramarital affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell...and there's possibly another woman? ¡Ay Dios mío!

Oh, but the drama doesn't stop there. In fact, within the past few days, Petraeus' life has become a full-blown, no-holds-barred telenovela, complete with excellent juicy secrets and spy-flick worthy drama!

I'll admit, I'm not surprised that the general was caught cheating on his wife, nor did I think it was a big deal since this isn't the first time an affair has come out of  the Beltway. But the fact that this scandal keeps growing and intermingling with other more drama…is rather SHOCKING. And the whole thing is also a little unsettling as new security breaches are coming to light. Double 'Ay Dios mío'!

In case you're confused by all the craziness surrounding David Patraeus drama, we've come up with a timeline guide to simplify the scandal.

The Cheater: David Petraeus addressed the public on his affair and resigned from his top position--just a week before going on trial to testify about the September 11, 2011 attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The Wife: Petraeus' wife, Holly, of 38 years reportedly isn't happy about learning of his affair (DUH!). The worst part is she considered Broadwell a friend who even praised her on TV appearances while promoting the Petraeus' biography. Oh no she didn't!

The Other Woman: Army reserves officer Paula Broadwell met Petraeus while she was attending Harvard for grad school. She later wrote her dissertation about him and after moving to North Carolina with her family, wrote Petraeus' biography, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus. Shortly after Patraeus became CIA director in September 2011, their affair began. It ended this past summer after Petraeus' family friend and socialite Jill Kelley started receiving anonymous jealous e-mails and reported it to FBI, who found out they were from Broadwell. The latest news is that Broadwell's driver's license, which had gone missing, was randomly found in the same park where intern Chandra Levy's body was discovered. Um, SPOOKY much?

The Third Woman: The Petraeus scandal gets even better as we learned that the other woman possibly involved in this mess is 37-year-old Jill Kelley, a friend of the Petraeus family, who Broadwell considered a threat. Reportedly, Broadwell sent Kelley threatening e-mails telling her to "back off my man." But Petraeus and Kelley have said their relationship has always been platonic

The Second Man: U.S. Marine General John Allen got entangled in the Petraeus scandal after the FBI found a number of inappropriate e-mails he had sent the Third Woman, Jill Kelley. The married father of two denies having had an affair with her and says they were harmless flirtatious messages. Um, reports are that he sent more than 20,000 text messages--this seems a step above flirting to me, and more like obsessive!

The moral of the story: DON'T cheat and DON'T use your work e-mail account, or really ANY elctronic mail system to do so--especially if you work for the government! I think this drama would play out quite hilariously on Laura en América, but that's just me. Maybe Telemundo or Univision can be inspired by this scandal and get their writing teams to create a new telenovela. I see something about the military....

For now, we'll be keeping an eye out for any further developing news as the plot thickens on this scandalous real-life telenovela!
