Latino athletes are totally killing it in baseball these days. Recently, Puerto Rican Carlos Correa became the first ever number one MLB draft pick from his country and now, superstar Yankees player Alex Rodriguez is also breaking records! During Tuesday night's game, the Dominican third baseman hit his 23rd career grand slam, matching Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig's record.

"It means a lot," Rodriguez said at the game of the slam. "It's very special. This game is very, very difficult. If you're not going to enjoy these great moments, then it's not any fun. Lou Gehrig is not only one of the all-time greats, but he's one of ours. He's a Yankee."

The accomplishment is just the latest to add to Rodriguez's long list of impressive record-breaking feats. He is already the all-time leader in home runs by a Hispanic player, after surpassing Sammy Sosa's mark in 2010. Now, most are saying that this latest record-breaking achievement will be just what Rodriguez needs to ensure his own spot in the Hall of Fame amongst other Latino legends, like Roberto Clemente and Luis Aparicio.

I personally don't think there's any question as to whether A-Rod belongs in the Hall of Fame--I mean, his notable career milestones speak for themselves! Still, it's great to see a Latino athlete not only meeting such amazing goals, but also being internationally recognized for his hard work. Though he might not be a Hall of Famer yet, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that Rodriguez is already one of the greats!
