uses for a salad spinnerI have a salad spinner and for a while it was collecting dust because even though it works great I felt like it was more effort than it was worth for washing lettuce. I always have cans of beans in my pantry. As much as I like the convenience of having them, I don't like using the liquid they come in. A salad spinner is great for draining and rinsing canned beans.

If you are making dough that needs to rise, you can use just the bowl from the salad spinner to cover your dough instead of plastic wrap. If the bowl is clear, you get the added bonus of being able to see what's going on with your dough.

If you know you are not going to use that salad spinner for food purposes, why not let your kids use it to make spin art? A few drops of paint in your salad spinner can turn into a lovely craft on paper.
