Eating like a birdie 2
As Self's September cover girl, the Colombian star revealed her meal plan to keep a tiny waist. Shakira eats eight small meals a day, which range in 200 to 250 each. These aren't frituras either. They're rich in fiber, protein, calcium and iron.
Starting slowly and picking up intensity 3
After giving birth to Milan in 2013, Shakira got her post-body back by slowly returning to her fitness routine. Her trainer Kaiser revealed that Shakira would work out 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. After a few weeks, she kicked that up to an hour twice a day.
Doing planks work magic 5
Planks are the best move to strengthen your core. Clearly, Shakira knows it! She does 15 reps of half plank push-ups and pulses down 20 times to really feel the burn.
Switching it up matters 6
Shakira doesn't stick to the same boring workout routine. She loves variety and trying tennis, roller skating and Zumba.

Cheating is allowed 8
Shakira may be strict when it comes to her workout, but her diet is a different story. Every now and then she allows herself a cheat day and indulges in her favorite treat--chocolate.
Cutting the cafecito 9
