6 Foods you NEED to eat to lose weight!
Carbs are not an evil to be avoided. The right carbs will help you burn fat faster and lose weight quicker. How can this possibly be true? Haven't you heard for years that carbs are bad for you and you need to eliminate them from your diet? This is partly true. You should eliminate or restrict carbs such as white rice, bread and refined sugar. But there is more than one kind of carb. And these foods contain the good variety that you NEED to eat in order to lose weight.

By cutting out all carbs you'll leave yourself tired, cranky and probably feeling hungry and deprived. No weight loss plan that leaves you feeling that way can last long-term. Today I'm going to tell you about resistant carbs. Resistant carbs are slow to digest and therefore stay in your system for a long time. They leave you feeling full, satisfied, and energized. They kick your metabolism into high gear and help you burn fat. That's right. They help you BURN fat. Not only do they not stop your weight loss goals, they help you achieve them.
So what are these magic carbs? Here's a list of some of my favorites:
Quinoa: This whole grain can be used in place of rice in many dishes. It has somewhat the same texture but digests slowly and doesn't cause a sugar spike. It can also be used in soups or in place of pasta.
Beets: There are a variety of ways you can enjoy this versatile root vegetable. Roast it, peel it, add a little olive oil, or chop it up and toss it on a salad. No matter how you eat it, you'll be adding fiber, folic acid and iron to your diet.
Strawberries: Everyone needs a sweet treat on occasion. These yummy snacks are packed with vitamin C, folate, potassium and fiber. Because of the fiber; natural sugars don't spike your glucose level like refined sugar or even fruit juice.
Beans: You can add these to soups, salads or make a hearty winter chili. They're not only full of good resistant carbs but also protein and fiber.
Whole wheat pasta: You don't have to give up your favorite dishes to lose weight and stay healthy. But making some changes will help you reach your weight loss goals sooner and help you maintain your perfect weight once you arrive. Making the switch to whole grains is one of those changes.
Artichoke hearts: You can add these high fiber veggies to a salad or steam them for a snack.
All of these delicious carbs leave you feeling satisfied for a long period of time. Because they're slow to digest, you aren't hungry again shortly after eating.
If you've cut out all carbs and find yourself feeling tired or hungry all the time, rethink your healthy eating plan. Add some of these high fiber, resistant carbs back into your diet for a few weeks and see how you feel. And track your weight, you may be surprised to find you're more energetic, happier, and still losing weight!
