Well, I don't know about you, but I'm definitely starting to feel that third-of-the-way-there slump. First of all, let's DEFINITELY congratulate ourselves! I mean, seriously, we're a 1/3 of the way to complete our 31 Days of Latinas Losing Weight challenge! Woo hoo!

Then again, though, now is the time to make sure that we're still pushing ourselves. Although I typically talk about healthy eating and lifestyle changes as being the #1 thing to lose weight (which, well, it is), we can't discount the importance of exercise. Have you been walking a little more each day? Burning 100 calories, at least, a day? And even started strength training? Well, great! Now on to Tip #21!

Today's tip actually has a LOT more to do with our mental state than anything else. Part of losing weight is keeping the right head on your shoulders and making sure to STAY MOTIVATED! And that's exactly what our tip today is about: not losing sight of your goals, especially those fitness goals, thanks to some great motivational quotes and tips.

First of all, I once heard someone say: "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing--that's why we recommend it daily." Take this thought into account as you read through some of these messages and, well, make sure you re-read these often!

"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."

"I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday."

"You must begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be."

"Don't give up what you want most for what you want now."

"When you feel like quitting, think about why you started."

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."

"It's not who you are that holds you back. It's who you think you're not."

"It took more than a day to gain it. It'll take more than a day to lose it. Don't give up."

Inspired yet? I know I am! If I were you. I would definitely print these out and put them in some key places.

Me? I put the one about "What you want most" on my fridge, the "I may not be there yet" in my gym bag and the "It took more than a day to gain it" in my wallet. It definitely gives me an added air of inspiration to see these quotes and remind myself of why I'm doing this challenge, why I'm trying to lose a few pounds alongside you and, most importantly, why I KNOW that we can all be a success. ¡Dale!

Keep motivated with another great tip tomorrow!

How do I stay motivated? I hanged a picture of myself when I was 60 lbs lighter. I was at my happiest back then. I was at a good size, good weight, healthy and overall very happy. I started dieting last week and exercising and so far I have lost 11 lbs!! I'm very excited and motivating myself by reminding myself that I once was happy with my appearance. I'm working on that right now. ♥

These are GREAT! I also agree that hanging a picture of yourself at your healthiest & happiest is a real motivator. So are having little sayings like this on your mirror so you see them every morning when you wake up :)
