Easy moon diet could help you lose up to 6 pounds in one day!
We've heard about the watermelon diet, about how fasting one day a week can really help you lose weight, about an amazing oil that will help you lose fat, and God knows how many other extreme diets, but the moon diet?! This one is new to me!
It first came to my attention in a community post here in MamásLatinas that talked about how effective the moon diet actually is. The good thing for me is I'm just in time to try it since according to the calendar, tomorrow December 13 is next new moon, perfect to take full advantage of what this diet promises to do for me by the end of the week.
The fascinating theories behind it and the many testimonials of lost weight, swear that with a simple 36 hour fast and intake only of fluids (particularly water), shedding up to 6 pounds is not only possible but a realistic expectation. Let's find out together what the plan of action should be...
Apparently the moon diet takes into consideration the power of the moon over the composition of water in the earth and the human body, thus making for certain days in the lunar cycle to be particularly good times to help your body's natural cleansing process. Accorging to doctor Christian Dyuraffur, president of the International Federation of Phyto and Aromatherapy, on days of full moon and new moon the changes in atmospheric pressure have an effect on our metabolism allowing for a faster removal of fat and toxins from the body. The diet described below is meant to help accelerate this process and should result in greater weight loss over a period of 24 hours than if done on other days of the lunar cycle.

Ready? Diet starts at 6 pm the day before the new moon and will continue for no more than 36 hours. Your menu during this period of time is limited to liquids only, including broths (vegetable broths will render the best results but chicken, meat and fish broths are good too) and lots of water.
Expect not only rapid weight loss, but also such cleansing of your metabolism that you will notice your skin clear and radiant.
Here's a quick vegetable broth recipe to get you started with the Moon Diet right away:
1/2 onion, 1 leek, 2 carrots, 2 celery sticks, 1 tomato, 1 bunch of cilantro, 2 bay leaves, fresh thyme, olive oil, 8 cups of water, salt
Wash and chop all of the ingredients, except for the herbs. In a deep pot, drizzle some olive oil and sautee the onion and leek until translucent. Add the carrots, celery and tomato and cook for about 5 minutes. Add water, cilantro, bay leaves and thyme and cook for another 20 minutes.
Avoid this diet if you're pregnant, and before starting this or any other diet, always talk to your doctor first.
