Tortillas are kicking hamburgers' & hot dogs' BUNS!!!
Guess what? Tortillas are outselling burger buns and hot dog buns in stores nationwide. In your face BUNS! Part of the reason is because the Latino population in the United States just keeps growing and growing and part of it is because tortillas are awesome and so,so versatile. Oh and it's not just Latinos who are buying the tortillas, oh no! Shoot, there are youngsters growing up right as we speak who think of tortillas as American food, not ethnic food at all and I have to agree because Latin American food is American, otherwise it wouldn't have "American" right after Latin, now would it?

I love it, I love it, I love it. It was just a matter of time before tortillas became a pantry staple in the U.S. Think about it, salsa is the best selling condiment in the U.S., even more popular than ketchup. What goes great with salsa? Tortilla chips. Right? No one is going to serve salsa with hot dog or hamburger buns when it works so well with tortilla chips.
I have to say that I cannot imagine my home without tortillas. We love them and use them constantly. I can imagine my home without hot dog buns or hamburger buns because they are not something we eat on a regular basis. Usually, if we are going to have hamburgers or hot dogs, it's been planned and we bought buns for the occasion. Whereas, in my home, buying tortillas is like buying a loaf of bread, we do it EVERY time we go grocery shopping because we know they will get eaten.
