When I was a little girl, my mom used to make this Morir Soñando (literally to die while dreaming) batido. One day, she came with the recipe and it was a big, huge surprise for my sister and me.

Years later, I learned the origins of this sweet, delicious drink could be traced in the island of merengue and bachatas, in the land of mangú , con-con and arroz con habichuelas: in my beloved Dominican Republic.

Morir Soñando is a blend of orange juice and milk with a lot of ice. It tastes like ice-cream, it is creamy and yummy, yummy, yummy! I hope you like my recipe.

Morir soñando
Makes 1 drink

1/2 cup of fresh orange juice
1/2 cup of evaporated milk
1/4 cup condensed milk
1 cup of crushed ice

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy.
