Story after story goes on and on about the benefits of olive oil. Yes, olive oil is high in fat, so drinking a cup of it is not going to help you lose any weight, but the monounsaturated fats in olive oil are considered very healthy. That I knew--olive oil is already the go-to oil in my kitchen, but I was surprised to read that olive oil even just the aroma can help you fight hunger!

A recent study out of Germany found that people who consumed olive oil or an an extract from its aroma had higher levels of serotonin. Serotonin is a hormone that lets you know when you've had enough to eat. Bring on the serotonin!
Now, you could sniff olive oil for it's aroma and try to get the hunger fighting benefits that way, but I'm all for a two-pronged approach. I can smell the lovely aroma while I ingest some delicious meals created with olive oil as an ingredient. Aroma alone is never going to fill me up.
