Don't even try to lie and say that you don't like to see train wrecks on the red carpet for awards shows. Today's edition comes courtesy of Premio Lo Nuestro, which is airing tomorrow on Univision, and which promises its shares of greatness as well as some misses. We're all waiting to see celebs like Chiquinquirá Delgado and Galilea Montijo looking like queens, but someone always forgets to hire a stylist or doesn't listen to advice and that's where the fun comes. It's not being haters, it's just nice to know these celebs make mistakes too! And just so you get an idea of what to expect when bad is BAD, check out the worst red carpet fails of all time below. I'm sure fashionistas Rodner Figueroa and Jomari Goyso would cry if they saw these!Continue Reading >
The 2015 Golden Globe Award nominations were announced early this morning at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles, and our Latinos also came out to represent! Latino actors and directors are no strangers to Golden Globe snubs, but this year there is an interesting mix of Latino Golden Globe nominees. I was thrilled to see Gina Rodriguez on the prestigious roster for her star role on the CW's hit series Jane The Virgin. The fun telenovela-inspired show has been one of my favorites this year and Gina truly shines. However, it was who wasn't on the nominee list who took me by surprise.
The 2014 Emmy nominations are in! The nominees this year are all well-deserved, but I'm super excited because Latina-dominated Netflix original series Orange is the New Black (OITNB) received a whopping 12 Emmy nods. Among the other nominees include, Modern Family, House of Cards and Breaking Bad.
For a full list of the nominations, keep reading after the jump!Continue Reading >
Before I get into all the juicy details, let me tell you that Raúl González shined, proving that switching networks was the best decision he could've made. It's obvious that the Venezuelan presenter was ready for more. Plus, the trio made up by him, Roselyn Sánchez and Laura Flores was a total hit. The flow of the show was one of the best I've seen in Hispanic television lately and that's saying a lot, considering I've watched them all. And their attire was fantastic, especially the last outfits they wore.
But what transpired throughout the night was powerful and unexpected. I danced, I laughed, I reminisced and I cried. A lot, actually... Ready?
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first Billboard Latin Music Awards. I love watching it every year but this year I'm more excited than ever. Since it's a big anniversary, I expect that they're pulling out all the stops so it should be a great show. Here are four great reasons to tune in this year:
Last night was the MTV Movie Awards and with all the celebs that came out, we couldn't miss it. Like most award shows, there were highlights that were memorable and we just have to talk about! Take for instance Mila Kunis showcasing her baby bump and Jessica Alba butchering a pretty popular young actor's name.
We'll give Jessica some leeway, but I'm sure she won't forget it now--especially after what he did last night!Continue Reading >
After this weekend's Oscars, Edgar Martirosyan is now not only the world's most famous pizza deliveryman, he's also the luckiest! While making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, Martirosyan--who came face-to-face with some of Hollywood's biggest stars during an impromptu pizza party at the Academy Awards this past Sunday--opened up about his once-in-a-lifetime experience and finally received his (VERY generous) tip.
Well, you know what they say…better late than never!Continue Reading >
Two the most beautiful Latinas in the world of entertainment, Chiquinquirá Delgado and Alejandra Espinoza, were the hosts of tonight's red carpet (well, the magenta carpet!) at #PremioLoNuestro at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Seriously, who could compete against those two beauties? Although both Delgado and Espinoza looked beautiful, shining from head to toe, the magenta carpet saw the creme de la creme of Latino celebs. Keep reading for some of the most incredible looks of tonight's carpet ....
The Grammys are supposed to be one of the edgier awards shows of awards season, but this year's disappointed in more ways than one. From the lame-ish Grammy Red Carpet dresses (gold, beige, the occasional red) to the performances, I have to confess that it was hard to stay up and watch 3.5 hours of this.
But it is a big night, so we watched! I was also waiting for Bruno Mars to win his multiple Grammys--he was nominated for six! So how did he make out? Well … read on.
As always, even more fun than the actual awards shows, in tonight's case the Grammys, is the Red Carpet! And as always also, our stars absolutely shined! From Gloria Estefan looking classic and perfect to newcomer Desiree Estrada, who looked amazing in gold and white, it was a treat to see our stars rocking the carpet. Shiny, full-length gowns rocked the night (even pregnant Ciara wore a beautiful gold beaded gown, belly bump and all!), and of course Madonna broke the mold in a black tuxedo and grill ... which were a little out there, but hey. This year, the fashion wasn't as out there as we've come to expect from the Grammys. But I personally LOVED the glitter of the Red Carpet.Continue Reading >
