Meghan Markle's dad shares never-before-seen photos from her childhood

Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle, is at it again. And by "at it again," we mean that once again he is talking about his daughter to the media, even though he hasn't actually spoken to her since the day before she married Prince Harry in 2018. This time around, though, Mr. Markle shared never-before-seen pictures and videos of Meghan from when she was just his little girl, long before she was an actress or a royal.

All the photos and videos were shared by him during a 90-minute documentary that he filmed for Channel 5 in England. FYI, he was paid for the documentary, although it hasn't been revealed just how much he was given.

We're thinking the documentary will not sit well with Meghan or Harry, since part of the reason that they cut Mr. Markle out of their lives is that he accepted a deal to pose for a paparazzi photographer before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were married. Even if he says that was a decision that will "haunt" him for the rest of his life, it was not enough to keep him from once again accepting another paid media deal.

Why did Thomas Markle film the documentary in the first place?

Apparently, he feels that everyone "owes" him, and since they aren't paying up, he is getting paid elsewhere. He said:

"I don't care. At this point, they owe me. The royals owe me. Harry owes me, Meghan owes me. What I've been through I should be rewarded for. My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she'll take care of me. I'm in my senior years now; it's time to look after Daddy."

The pictures of Meghan shared in the documentary are undeniably adorable.

There are pictures of Meghan all throughout her childhood. She looks happy, healthy, and very loved. It also appears that back then, unlike now, she was very close to her dad.

Mr. Markle talks about how he felt when he first saw Meghan.

"When she was born I couldn’t have been happier. They handed her to me, I saw her face, her little fingers wrapped around my fingers, and that was it; I was in love. I just knew she was going to be special. I was just knocked out by that child. She was just beautiful, and I just couldn’t put her down," he said.

He also said he always knew that Meghan would be an actor.

"When I saw my daughter performing onstage, I felt tremendous pride. I knew from the day she was born that she would eventually be doing that," said Thomas. "It wasn't a surprise or a shock to me. It was just something I knew was going to happen." And it did happen. Meghan did well for herself as an actor and landed a very lucrative role on the show Suits.

Will the documentary even make it to the States?

There is a rumored bidding war going on between TV execs who are trying to get the US rights for the documentary. "Talks are ongoing with the major networks in the US--once a deal is done the film could be shown within days, depending on whether they want to change their schedule," a source revealed.
