Jen did a recap of her fantastic year on 'SNL.'
Jen went down her list of accomplishments and amazing moments she lived this year during her monologue while hosting Saturday Night Live. She said she felt "blessed" and based on what we know of her 2019, she is totally right.
She hosted 'SNL' like a pro.
Jen is no stranger to Saturday Night Live but she took on hosting this year like a total professional comedian. She once again proved her acting chops during her skits, and they were a hit.
Jen was nominated for a Golden Globe.
It has been 20 years since Jennifer received a nomination at the Golden Globes for her role in Selena. She landed a Best Supporting Actress nomination this year for her role as Ramona in Hustlers and she was over the moon. "Could not be prouder to be recognized by the #HFPA. Ramona was a complicated character and it was an honor and challenge to bring her to life," she captioned a sweet video in December. "Hustlers was a labor of love, sweat and perseverance written, directed, produced, edited and starring a group of bad-ass women. I am proud and honored to represent them and this film!!!! ♥️♥️ @goldenglobes #HustlersMovie #Ramona Thank you so much Hollywood Foreign Press Association!!! ♥️♥️."
The LA Film Critics Association also nominated her.
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association also acknowledged her acting skills and nominated Jen for Best Supporting Actress for Hustlers. Jen reacted to the news with a cute photo of her with her babies: "Home sweet home 💜 Sitting here with my coconuts and feeling so grateful. THANK YOU to the @lafilmcritics Association! I am humbled and honored. #Ramona #hustlersmovie #LAFCA"
She made some major money moves.
She became a partner for Portal from Facebook, which is a smart video calling service with Alexa built-in. She appeared in a couple of ads for the service alongside Kim Kardashian and Alex Rodriguez. She knows how to bring home the cash!
She was racking up nominations left and right.
Critics seemed to agree that this was one of Jen's best acting roles in a while. The Spirit Awards gave her a nomination for Best Supporting Female and Jen captioned the post: "So grateful to the @FilmIndependent #SpiritAwards for the Hustlers nominations. Beyond proud of Lorene and Todd for being recognized for their creative vision. #hustlersmovie💜🎥."
Jennifer is the new face of Coach.
Who better to be the face of a major fashion brand than J.Lo? The clothing company welcomed her with open arms and commented: "Welcome to the Coach fam. We can’t wait for 2020. ❤️💥" We love to see a Latina as the face of a brand as big as Coach.
She was also on top of the music charts.
She might have had one of the best years ever for her acting career, but her music career was still pretty successful. She had a No. 1 song on the Latin music charts with "Baila Conmigo." The J.Lo reign doesn't stop!
The singer will be taking over the world's biggest stage.
One of the biggest accomplishments for a musician is to be selected to perform at the Super Bowl halftime--and J.Lo will be doing so. It won't take place until February 2020, but the singer announced that she will be the halftime performer at the next Super Bowl. She will be performing alongside Shakira--and they will be representing Latinos and making us all proud.
She proved once again that she is timeless and a fashion queen.
It has nearly been 20 years since Jennifer stunned the world with that gorgeous green Versace jungle dress at the 2000 Grammys. To commemorate the major fashion moment, J.Lo walked the runway with a replica of the dress during Milan Fashion Week 2019 and looked phenomenal.
'Hustlers' became a huge success at the box office.
Not only was the film loved by critics, it also received the support of fans. The movie was released on September 13 and quickly became a hit at the box office. It made $33.2 million opening weekend, becoming the biggest live-action movie opening in J.Lo's career. Her acting also received major buzz with rumor circulating that she might be in line for an Oscar nomination.
She also headlined a solo tour this year.
In honor of her 50th birthday, Jen headed out on the road for her first solo tour in over six years. The It's My Party: The Live Celebration Tour was a huge success and it looked like plenty of fun.
She welcomed her 50th birthday with so much style.
Jen threw a fabulous party in Miami in July surrounded by her family and famous friends to bring in her 50th year. Jen proved that age is really nothing but a number and looked as beautiful and as energetic as ever.
She was finally recognized as the fashion icon she is.
J.Lo became the recipient of the 2019 CFDA's Fashion Icon award. She wore a gorgeous ensemble to the event and captioned this beautiful pic writing: "Orange is the new black. 🧡 Thankful and humbled to receive the @cfda Fashion Icon award tonight. ✨Thank you @ralphlauren for this beautiful custom look!!"
She kicked off the year in the best way.
