Kim and Kanye celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary in 2019.
The couple had a lot to celebrate. They welcomed their fourth child, Psalm, as well as celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe they've been married for half a decade, but it's so beautiful to see them still together and so in love.
Kim told Scott Disick what inspired her to pull off the surprise.
Kim was talking to her sister Kourtney Kardashian's ex about what it's like to have four young kids, and how challenging it has been after Psalm's arrival. She said Kanye had stepped up to the plate to help take care of her other kids while she took care of their newborn, which made her want to do something special for him. "Kanye knows I've had such anxiety with the new baby and everything happening in my life. He's stepped up so much and he's been the most amazing dad, playing all the games with the kids, so I really want to move forward and plan the vow renewal," she said.
She rehearsed her vows with the help of a very special little man.
Kim and Kanye's son, Saint, stood in for his dad before the ceremony as his mom practiced the new vows she had prepared for her husband. Kim referred to Kanye as her "best friend" and "biggest believer," while Saint smiled and laughed while listening to his mom. So cute!
North and Kim were getting their hair and makeup done for the ceremony.
North was just a baby when her parents tied the knot and now she is old enough to be their flower girl. The little one made sure to remind her mom that although it was a big day for her, it was also Kanye's day. When Kim said it was "my day," North quickly corrected her saying, "No, it's daddy's and yours." North always has her dadYe in mind!
They decided to keep their ceremony private.
Although they showed the behind-the-scenes of them preparing for the sweet moment, Kim and Kanye decided to keep their intimate vow renewal ceremony to themselves. The fans got to see some of the planning for the surprise, but ultimately KimYe exchanged vows again surrounded by just friends and family. It seems like fans were supportive of their decision and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. "I love the fact u and Kanye gave such a public - private life balance. I feel like it’s made you whole relationship so much stronger. We love kimye🖤," one fan tweeted. Another wrote: "I love that we didn’t get to see the vow renewal! Like what a nice balance between being private but also showing us so much. We got so many cute moments with Kim and the kids."
