President Trump made some controversial remarks regarding Puerto Rico.
The president addressed the nation via Twitter in regard to the hurricane and how the government plans to step in to provide help and resources to the island.
"We are tracking closely tropical storm Dorian as it heads, as usual, to Puerto Rico. FEMA and all others are ready, and will do a great job," he wrote. "When they do, let them know it, and give them a big Thank You - Not like last time. That includes from the incompetent Mayor of San Juan!" He also went on to accuse the political system on the island of being "corrupt."
This tweet in particular was not received well.
Trump also sent this tweet that also rubbed people the wrong way, saying that he was "the best thing" to happen to the island.
Marc did not mince words when it came to responding to the president.
Marc sent a tweet in response, defending Puerto Rico after the president accused its government of corruption. "Coming from a gruesome individual like YOU it makes perfect sense," the salsero tweeted.
Marc came to the island's defense then, too.
Marc has always been known as someone who represented and supported his island through thick and thin. It's really not a surprise to see him come to its defense whenever his people are threatened or disrepespected in any way.
