Camila will be working with director Kay Cannon on the film.
This is the former Fifth Harmony member's first acting gig, but she's in great hands. Kay Cannon made her directorial debut with 2018's Blockers. Her first produced screenplay was Pitch Perfect, and she went on to produce the movie's sequels.
The project is already in the works.
No release date has been announced for the project yet, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, "Sony is putting the project on the fast track for production." The Late Late Show With James Corden host has had experience with musicals since early in his career, and he starred in 2014's Into the Woods and created Carpool Karaoke: The Series.
