Rosario revealed that the relationship between her and Cory is going swimmingly.
TMZ caught up with Rosario at the Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, and asked her why she had been visiting the city so often. As soon as she was questioned about Cory, she lit up. "I think so, yeah. He's an amazing human being," she said in regard to him running for president, and she even had one of his campaign pins on her purse.
The actress was beaming and said that Cory is very "loving."
"So far, so wonderful," she said. "He's a wonderful human being. It's good to spend some time together when we can. We're busy." In regard to a future engagement, she said: "I have no idea. I am just grateful to be with someone that I respect and love and admire so much who is so brilliant and kind and caring and loving."
Cory confirmed that he was dating someone in February.
The politician stopped by Power 105.1's morning show The Breakfast Club in February, and the hosts asked him about his dating life and how being single might affect his presidential campaign. "There's two more years, so give me some time. My girlfriend is listening to this," Cory said. "Before I declare president, I'm dating someone that's really special…I got a boo."
The politician hasn't let the rumors stop him from focusing on his work.
Cory has been serving as the junior United States senator from New Jersey since 2013 and is the first African-American US senator from the state. Before that, he served as the mayor of Newark from 2006 to 2013. He's been hard at work, so when a reporter asked the senator about the Rosario dating rumors in January, Cory refused to answer the question because he was dealing with more serious political matters at the time. "Government shutdown, let's focus on what's important," the politician said.
Cory announced at the top of February that he was running for president.
He launched his presidential campaign on February 1, after months of speculation that he would be running in 2020 against President Donald Trump.
So is Rosario headed to the White House as first lady?
We honestly can't think of anyone better than her to be first lady! She has been involved with Voto Latino for years, speaking out about politics and trying to get Latinos involved when it comes to voting. During the presidential campaign in 2016, Rosario went all out with her support for Bernie Sanders. When Cory was asked on the radio show if Rosario would make a good first lady, he said: "Yes, she would." A Latina in the White House doesn't sound half bad to us!
