At just 21 years old, Kylie Jenner has built an empire that most people can only dream of in their lifetimes. It was reported by Forbes on Tuesday, March 5, that she has now been crowned as the youngest self-made billionaire ever, mostly because of her company, Kylie Cosmetics. The businesswoman has been involved in everything from books to TV shows to clothing lines and more since she was just 10 years old--and it all paid off. She has beat out the former youngest billionaire, Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg, who was 23 when he launched the social media site.

From the beginning of Kylie's career, mom and manager Kris Jenner has made sure that her daughter was setting herself up for success any way that she could. No deal has been too big or too small for the cosmetics mogul who has been promoting all types of products on social media, which brings in an estimated $1 million per sponsored post. Both Kylie and the products she promotes benefit from her more than 128 million Instagram followers. Any mention of a song or clothing brand on her page is guaranteed to make it a hit. And she followed that business model for her own company.

The company's worth was estimated at $900 million in 2018, and as the sole owner of it, she was on the road to becoming a billionaire. She started out by selling lip kits, which included a liquid lipstick and a lip liner that she herself used to make her small lips appear bigger by overlining them. She turned her insecurity of not having a full pout into a billion-dollar brand, and that's some really powerful stuff. 

The exclusivity and limited quantities of her products were what made it a success from the start. Since then, the company has evolved and so has its owner. Kylie is her own brand worldwide and that helps her spread her businesses on an international level, which tends to bring in more money. She partnered with Australian company Quay to release her own collection of sunglasses.

Kylie then started testing out the waters of how the products would perform in retail stores and then began selling some of her makeup in stores like Top Shop in 2017, exposing it to a wider audience.
