Her heartbreaking statement comes with a plea.

Not only does Charo describe Kjell as "the love" of her life and go into details about his deteriorating health, depression, and the toll it all took on him, but she is considerate and thoughtful enough to think of others. She urges us all to help and get help for others who may be suffering from "depression or illness."

He wasn't just her husband, though.

Soon after they were married, Kjell became Charo's manager. Back in 2017, Kjell was asked by a reporter how he kept up with his wife, and he jokingly responded, "I don't even try."

The couple appeared together on TV in 2015.

During season four of ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap, the couple and their son Shel Rasten appeared opposite Jill Whelan. It was considered a Love Boat reunion of sorts since Charo and Jill had appeared on that show together.
