Cardi's performance on Saturday was a huge milestone.
She was one of the festival's headliners, which speaks to how successful she is as an entertainer. Cardi should have been on could nine, but Offset stole her shine.
Flowers with the message "TAKE ME BACK CARDI" were rolled out onto the stage in the middle of her set.
Cardi looked like she was instantly over it in this clip that was captured by a fan in the audience.
Offset followed with a bouquet of white roses in hand and a proclamation of love.
He led with an apology and told Cardi, “In front of the world, I love you." Offset added that he will do whatever it takes to prove that to her.
Rolling Loud released a statement clarifying that they had no involvement in Offset's appearance during Cardi's performance.
"Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set at Rolling Loud," Tariq Cherif, one of the co-founders of the festival, told People. "The festival does not interfere with or influence a headliner’s set list. We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner’s set. We were tipped off that something was going to happen, but had nothing to do with the organization or execution of it.
"Rolling Loud is proud to provide the platform for a queen like Cardi B to absolutely slay her performance. Despite the stunt, she performed hit after hit and electrified the crowd with her talent, energy, choreography, and set design. Cardi B proved herself as a top tier headliner last night, and that should be the story. We look forward to continued business with her in the future."
The statement does not help the rumors that Cardi and Offset's breakup is a publicity stunt.
Offset has new music on the way this month, which makes the timing of their separation suspicious. Could Cardi and her team have been in on the Rolling Loud apology? It seems like at least someone on her team had to approve of it.
Cardi has denied that the breakup is fake.
"I just really hate how people say we trying to do this for publicity," she said on Instagram Live. "Think we want to put our life out there for what -- what we gain from publicity? Nothing."
Whether the breakup is real or fake, Offset received serious backlash for his "take me back" move.
Offset responded on Twitter, saying that he felt a public apology was needed to counter his public wrongdoing.
The mistake that could end his marriage for good was made very public.
Text messages that exposed his plot to arrange a threesome with a woman named Summer Bunni and a rapper named Cuban Doll were leaked earlier this month. This is allegedly the straw that broke the camel's back in Offset and Cardi's relationship.
Cardi took to Instagram after Offset's Rolling Loud stunt and asked fans to take it easy on him.
She thanked her supporters, but discouraged them from attacking Offset. "Violating my baby father is not going to make me feel any better because at the end of the day that is still family," she said. "Unfortunately, we’re going through things and it’s not private. It became public and I just want things to die down, I just need time, so we could see eye to eye. I can’t predict the future. I don’t know, but the whole coming at my baby father bullshit… that doesn’t make me feel any better."
It sounds like a reconciliation isn't out of the question after that statement.
Offset's infidelity has been so toxic that Cardi's has already gotten into legal trouble and the couple has only been married a year! We hope Cardi thinks long and hard about her next move. Her and baby Kulture's future depend on it.
