Chiquis Rivera rushed to hospital due to an emergency, here's all we know

Chiquis Rivera

Chiquis Rivera fans received shocking news just hours before she was scheduled to hit the stage in Mexico on Sunday. The singer had a concert planned at Plaza Monumental de Morelia in Michoacán and was sharing her excitement about the event in the hours leading up to it. Unfortunately, she was forced to cancel at the last minute for "medical reasons" and it was serious. She ended up being hospitalized.

Fortunately, her man Lorenzo Méndez was at her side. He gave the press details of Chiquis' recent health complications that may explain why this weekend's scary incident occurred.

Chiquis' management team posted a message explaining the cancelation on social media.

They shared that Chiquis was OK and receiving medical treatment.

Her fans were so understanding and even left gifts for the star.

La Voz de Michoacán published video of Chiquis' fans getting the news that she would not be performing at the venue. We are sure the posters, flowers and other tokens of appreciation they left behind will lift the entertainer's spirits.

The press caught up with Lorenzo and got him to reveal that Chiquis received care at two hospitals.

According to Lorenzo, Chiquis felt strong stomach pains earlier that day but he thought the show would go on. "She was emergency rushed to the hospital and then she was taken to another hospital, and it seems that her condition is more serious than we thought," he said in Spanish. It appeared that Chiquis was going to need surgery.

Lorenzo believes that Chiquis' current complications could be related to a previous health issue.

"I don't want to think the worst but she had surgery six months ago over an issue with her ovaries," he said. "I don't want to give too much information because it is something very personal but it looks like that's what this is about."

Chiquis opened up about needing surgery to remove an ovarian cyst last year.

She told fans that she needed to have one removed after her doctor informed her that it was growing too quickly. It can be very scary and painful but ovarian cysts are extremely common and aren't life-threatening.

Univision's 'El Gordo y La Flaca' shared footage of him and a team of other people, including Chiquis' sister, Jenicka Lopez, at a hospital in Morelia

Those must have been tense moments.

Lorenzo shared a photo from inside a hospital room with an update on her condition on Monday morning.

"Thank you for your prayers she is already recovering #mytrooper," he wrote on his Instagram Story.

We're glad to hear that she is in stable condition.

Stay strong, Chiquis!
