Abraham doesn’t care what happens to Yolanda because it won’t change what happened to Selena.
“When it comes to my family and I, we don’t care if they release her today," he told Primer Impacto. "They can let her go. Nothing will bring my daughter back.”
According to Abraham, Yolanda is better off in jail.
He shared that she remains in solitary confinement 23 years after she committed her crime to prevent the general population from killing her.
Abraham and his family have proof of just how much her fellow inmates hate her.
“To this day, we still receive letters from women who are in the same prison where they say they are waiting for [Yolanda],” he said. “That they are going to kill her. There are bad women in there. Women who have murdered other people in the past. That is why they are in there. They have nothing to lose.“
Yolanda still insists that Selena’s murder was an accident.
Abraham isn’t buying her story. “It was no accident,” he said. “It was a moment of rage because she was being fired.”
Yolanda was accused of embezzling money from Selena’s boutique in San Antonio, Texas.
Selena had gone to meet Yolanda at the Days Inn in Corpus Christi, Texas, on March 31, 1995, to retrieve financial records. Unfortunately, Yolanda ended up shooting her in the back and Selena died as a result of the gunshot wound.
Today, Abraham wishes he never got his children into the music business.
“If things would have gone a different way, Selena could still be alive right now,” he said.
