Demi Lovato is promising her fans to keep fighting after her recent overdose. Weeks after she was transported to Cedars-Sinai hospital, the singer broke her silence and opened up about her relapse. Demi has been transparent about her struggles with addiction with her fans since the first time she entered rehab in 2010. In the letter, Demi said that she now knows that her journey to recovery will always be ongoing. She also thanked God, her fans and the hospital staff and credited them for keeping her alive.

"I have always been transparent about my journey with addiction," she shared in the text post. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet."

She added: "I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting."

Demi was taken to the hospital on July 24, after her friends called 911 following a night of partying at the singer's Hollywood Hills home. It was first reported that it was a heroin overdose but a representative for the "Sorry Not Sorry" star denied that report. Since then, celebrities have been sending her tons of love and support. Many more joined in and commented on the singer's post on Sunday, and stars including Luis Fonsi and Jennifer Lopez expressed their support.

Demi thanked everyone who has been by her side.
