A teenager and her mom accused Mexican singer Roberto Tapia of sexual misconduct and sexual abuse on January 14.
On April 28, It became clear that it was all a lie. "I'm in love with him and he is with somebody else," said the 16-year-old girl. Her name was never revealed to the media.

The breakup after 25 years of marriage shocked her fans and the Latino entertainment world. But nothing could have prepared La Flaca and her kids for the reason behind the decision, which she called, on September 14, "the biggest pain I've felt second to my mother's death when I was a child."
According to Univision.com, La Flaca made the decision to leave Lorenzo, weeks after their 25th wedding anniversary, when she learned that there were photos of her husband and another woman.

But even worse: Even though Hurricane Maria tore through the island on September 20, neither electricity nor water service has been restored in full, almost three months later.

Karla Luna's husband, Américo Garza, and her artistic partner, Karla Panini, had an affair that caused the breakup of Luna's marriage.
On October 5, soon after Luna's death, her oldest daughter (who is not Américo's child) accused Luna's ex of kidnapping when he moved Luna's two youngest daughters to the home he shares with now-wife Panini. The Mexican justice gave him full custody of the girls. It's been a very sad year for that poor family.

But the real fight played out on TV and social media in early November. It was all related to comments made by Chyno on El Gordo y la Flaca when Nacho was stuck in Venezuela after having problems with his passport. "Immigration has told me that he can come into the United States without problems, just with his [legal residence]," Chyno said.
Those comments got Nacho fired up, he called him, "animal," "beast" and other terms, firing back and saying that he needed the passport to get out of Venezuela and that he wasn't away from his kids for two months because he felt like it. It all has gotten very nasty since then.
While we were still making sense of Hollywood sex scandal, the accusations against Mexican American Louis C.K. rocked the comedy world. 19
Five women revealed his serious sexual misconduct to The New York Times. On November 10, the comedian released a very impactful apology letter and withdrew from the public eye.
Although the whole thing started with revelations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, other Latino stars, like director Brett Ratner and Jennifer López's manager Benny Medina, have also been acussed of sexual misconduct.

The news--yes fake news, so far--about her breakup from partner and daddy of her babies, Gerard Piqué, have surfaced several times. Unfortunately, not all controversies have been fake.
The journalistic investigation Paradise Papers revealed that the singer transferred $30 million in musical rights to an offshore account in Malta, and is among a number of other celebrities who are using offshore accounts to avoid paying taxes on portions of their fortunes. The account lists Shakira as a resident of the Bahamas even though she lives in Spain. According to her lawyer, none of it is illegal, but it's still pretty damn shady.
