Celebrities are human. They get bullied and deal with personal drama just like the rest of us. The only difference is that they totally have the opportunity to get revenge against their bullies who get to see them live their now-fabulous lives. 

Childhood can be tricky, especially when there are people whose main intent is to hurt others through teasing, name-calling and other forms of bullying. Social media has only made the problem worse and now people can be bullied by complete strangers from all over the world. These type of interactions can have deep and lasting effects on a person's mental and emotional health--and the impact is sometimes everlasting.

Some celebrities have bared their souls and opened up about the trauma and suffering they endured at the hands of bullies and they have shared how that impacted them when they were growing up. Someone like Kylie Jenner has shared that people teased her about the size of her lips, which caused her to get lip injections to make her pout look fuller. The sad part is that she was so beautiful and so young, and that's something that changed her so much. 

Other stars like Selena Gomez have found themselves having to step away from the public eye and taken a long hiatus from social media to hide away from online bullies. Take a look at all of the celebs that have survived getting bullied and are now stronger for it.

Gomez admits that she has been dealing with bullying since her Disney days. She recently admitted in an interview that cyber bullying is the reason she takes breaks from the limelight. "I delete the app from my phone at least once a week. You fixate on the [negative] ones. They’re not like, 'You’re ugly.' It’s like they want to cut to your soul. Imagine all the insecurities that you already feel about yourself and having someone write a paragraph pointing out every little thing--even if it’s just physical," she said.

Sam recalled being "punched in the neck" when he was attacked as a boy. “A bunch of boys from a rival school would shout insults at me as I walked from my home to the train station,” the singer told The Sun in 2015. “I remember walking to the station getting ‘f--got’ shouted at me all the time. It was the most mortifying thing.”

Torres told Latina magazine that she was always someone who stood up to others and it wasn't until high school and college that she experienced bullying for herself. Since then she created the Gracie Academy which is intended to teach kids and women self-defense against bullies and help the bullying epidemic.

She has shared that online bullying has sent her into a depression in the past, so she tries to stay away from social media. "I'm all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it's also about my little brother. He's 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter," she told Seventeen. "I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others."
