Kim Kardashian says she mentally prepped to be raped & killed during Paris robbery

On October 3, 2016, Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris. It's an experience that's never left her the same. Kim went into hiding for months. She disappeared from social media and took a long break from public appearances. Even her style changed and she transformed into wearing minimal makeup and WAY less bling. On the latest Keeping Up with the Kardashians episode, Kim extensively speaks about the tragic incident. She even reveals why she's waited this long to finally share her story.

Kim posted two family photos she took on her Paris trip right before the robbery. Each photo included a caption prepping her fans for the episode. She captioned the below photo:

Tonight's episode is going to be very tough for me. However, I thought it was important to share this story through my eyes & not in an interview where my own words could be twisted. I have always shared so much & I'm not going to hold back when this was probably one of the most life changing experiences for me. I would never wish this experience upon anyone, but I have learned some valuable lessons & feel so blessed to be safe home with my babies & husband. To my friends, family, and loved ones I can't thank you enough for being there when I needed you the most. To the French police, thank you for your incredible hard work. This was our last family photo taken in Paris.

Kim's account of the whole incident is incredibly eerie. I can't even imagine how terrified she must have felt when it all went down. Apparently her older sister Kourtney Kardashian was out partying with stylist Simone Harouche the night it all happened. Kim's bodyguard at the time, Pascal Duvierhad, joined them, while Kim was alone back at the hotel.

"And I was laying in bed, like 'should I wash my face? I'm so tired. I'm in my robe. I need to get up. I need to wash my face.' And then 10 minutes later, I was like dozing, dozing, and then I heard pounding up the stairs. I thought it was you and Stephanie (Kim is most likely referring to her assistant) drunk," Kim said to Kourtney on the show. "I'm calling to them like 'hello, hello, hello,' and there's no answer. That's when Kim realized something wasn't right.

"My door was open like this and I saw two guys holding another guy down in police uniform but right outside of my bedroom, five feet away. So I slide off my bed and picked up my phone and I'm like 'I don't know how to call 911 in a different country.' And so I like called Pascal and then the guy came and grabbed the phone from me, threw me on the bed, and I was like 'this is it.'

The men were holding the concierge and had him in handcuffs. They went into Kim's room and then dragged her out to the hallway at the top of the stairs. That's when she realized they were armed. "I was looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs," she continued. "I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back--it makes me so upset to think about it--but either they're going to shoot me in the back or if I make it and they don't, if the elevator doesn't open in time or the stairs are locked, then I'm f*cked! There's no way out."

Kim was then taken back into her room, where she pleaded with the concierge to ask the men not to kill her. "I have babies. Please, they can't understand me, but tell them I have babies at home. Please, I have a family. Let me live!" she cried. But here's where things got really scary. The men put duct tape over Kim's mouth and then apparently grabbed her legs. "And then, he grabs my legs and I wasn't, you know, I had no clothes on under [Kim had been in a robe]. He pulled me toward him at the front of the bed and I thought, 'Okay, this is the moment they're going to rape me,'" she said. "I fully mentally prepped myself--and then he didn't."

Thank goodness he didn't. Kim's legs were taped and the man even held the gun to her head, but they never shot a bullet and they never hurt Kim either. But in the moment she really believed she was going to be killed. "I just knew that was the moment," Kim recalls of when the gun was held to her head. "They're just totally going to shoot me in the head. I prayed that Kourtney's going to have a normal life after she sees my dead body on the bed."

Kim was placed into the bathtub before the robbers ran out with the jewelry. The incident clearly shook Kim and she remained out of the public eye for a while. But she refused to let this incident destroy her.

"I took a tragic horrific experience and did not let it diminish me. [I] rather grew and evolved and allowed the experience to teach me. I can say I've become so much better because of it … thank you for allowing me to share my story tonight #KUWTK," she captioned another photo on Instagram.

Kim's incident was the kind of thing that could easily lead someone into a deep depression or at least have them living in fear. But Kim has remained strong and allowed it to mold her into a better person. Like her or not, no one deserves what she went through and no one but Kim should be sharing her story.
