gerardo ortizMexican American singer Gerardo Ortiz may be out of jail at the moment, but he's not out of the woods yet on the case against him for promoting violence against women with his disgusting video "Fuiste mía". Although he did promise to make sure there is no trace of it ANYWHERE. It's too little, too late, if you ask me. Here's the latest on this convoluted situation, plus six other Mexican singers involved in crazy scandals.

Although he apologized, saying this from Mexico:

I want to apologize to anyone, especially women, offended over the video to "Fuiste mía." It was a video that wasn’t made with the objective of coming to this. I also want to apologize to all organizations who defend women's rights ... I hope to resolve my legal issues and hopefully I'll be able to come back and sing in Jalisco.

However, the Jalisco attorney general, where his case is being heard, still intends to prosecute him. His experience in jail while short, was far from pleasant.

According to the Mexican press, he is accused of exhalting crime in the video of his song "Fuiste mía," which shows a breakup gone horribly wrong. While the lyrics are typical of a heartbreak, the images show how a drug lord kills the woman who left him and then burns her body.
