Meet Jenna Ortega, Disney's new Latina princess (EXCLUSIVE)
Disney has a new princess and she's Latina! Jenna Ortega, who is the star of Stuck in the Middle and will lend her voice to Elena of Avalor sister, is the next up-and-coming Disney it girl. But the best thing about her is not her success or even her cuteness, it's how she loves her mom and how she talks about her. Read what she told me and see an exclusive video that our friends of Disney Channel sent us.

Following in the footsteps of fellow Disney alums Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Ortega is the soul of Stuck in the Middle. Funny enough, like her character Harley Díaz, she is one of six children and loves to be the leading character in a series about a Latino family. "[This] is very important to me because there aren't a lot of Latinas being represented on television and film. It's a dream of mine to help change that," said the 13 year-old, who also plays young Jane in CW's Jane the Virgin.
The cutie admits that her shyness sometimes makes her look unapproachable: "My mom reminds me that whenever we go out to keep a smile on my face. If she didn't tell me that, people might not want to say hi because I look mad or something. I don't want anyone to be shy or scared to say hi. I love meeting fans of the show!"
For Mother's Day, Ortega is planning to give her mom a new watch. "She used to have one but it broke two years ago and she hasn't had one since," she said and revealed that she and her siblings will follow this year the tradition of breakfast in bed and hanging out as a family. I hope that she and her real life siblings have more together than the Díaz kids from her Disney Channel show.
